Bio-Renewable Carbon (BRC) is a measure that has been adopted to denote plant based content that is renewable at rates compatible with modern requirements.

Petroleum based raw materials are as limited as the rapidly dwindling natural reserves from which they are obtained and although  these too are derived from ancient plants they are only created over millions of years and therefore do not re-form from decaying plant material during our lifetimes.

Our task is not merely to find new raw material sources once the “Oil” runs out but to do so in a manner that does not compromise our drive toward sustainable solutions that do not cause harm.

Whilst we are striving to increase  the BRC % in our products ; at the same time we must ensure the following

 ·     No destruction of natural and commercial  eco systems

·     No pollution of ground water, rivers and Oceans with fertilisers and pesticides

·     Preservation of species that co-habit  our plant source environments

·     Fair trade practices between farmers and technology companies

·     Non-polluting processes for the conversion of BRC materials into intermediates and final products.

·     No direct competition with food sources and preferably the use of food-source by-products such as bio-mass from food processing waste generation

Besides our vigilance extending from farm to end-user we will continue to search for new and improved solutions that provide safe sustainable chemistry.
